SMARTBOMB is an Oakland, CA based creative collective and multimedia/live events platform which shines light on the flourishing creative community of the bay area and beyond . Our mission is to showcase the dynamic, innovative and often marginalized voices of independent artistry. We encourage and nurture the ideals of taking artistic risk, unapologetic experimentation, and reaching new thresholds of possibility through all mediums of self expression. Our platforms represent pushing forward vintage futurist movements of music &amp; art while reconnecting &amp; educating each other of our cultural roots through the study and experience of sound, sampling memories of our past, and re-imagining them into new worlds of modern context. Created in 2013 as a monthly live art/music party in downtown Oakland, SMARTBOMB has been holding essential spaces, and providing resources for artists to be seen, heard, and supported by a nurturing community of like-minded beings, becoming a cultural hub for the ever burgeoning art/music/culture scene in the bay area. In response to the Covid lockdown of 2020, we created an online audio/visual broadcast special series titled. SMARTBOMB VIDEO HOME SYSTEM. SMARTBOMB VHS feature live music sets remotely recorded across the world paired with original experimental analog video effects (by Flatspot_.) , interwoven with a collection of short films, music videos, animations, skits &amp; more from various creative beings in the Bay Area and worldwide creative community cosmos during the time where everyone needed to feel connection and inspiration. Each episode serves as a surrealist collage of raw and earnest expression seamlessly connected to provide the viewer with a deeper window and genuine connection to a very real &amp; genuine underground cultural movement. To all unsung and unseen out there, we broadcast an experience for all to feel connected in wonder, imagination and inspiration. For the love of this art, for the love of this music, for the love of this culture, for the love of community. For 8+ plus SMARTBOMB has built a community universe in full DIY fashion with very little to no outside funding. As we find ourselves at a precipice for exponential growth, we have opened a new way to directly join on us this new path with our new PATREON.
