About this app

Diem is a social search engine, inspired by how women have shared knowledge for centuries. It's a dedicated, privacy-first space for people to search, collect, and share information with each other.

Over generations, social, political, intellectual, cultural, and economic information resources have defaulted to serve the “default male” population. As a result, women talk, having learned that the fastest way to obtain reliable, valuable information is through each other instead.

We built Diem to scale those candid conversations by embracing them instead. Our aim is to turn these conversations that happen "behind closed doors" — whether they're about friendships, birth control, toxic masculinity, harassment, chronic pain, big career moves, enthralling books, easy recipes, and everything in between — into public and credible resources.

To do this, we’ve built a model called Diem AI to conversationally answer your pressing, personal, embarrassing, funny, and serious questions. The model combines an LLM with our own community data. When you ask Diem a question, you’ll first receive an AI-generated response that scrapes Diem (and the internet) for answers (through a feminine lens) and then supplements those results with real-life anecdotes from Diem community members. The more we collectively share, the better the experience gets for everyone! You can think of Diem as a Q&A sesh that’s similar to searching the internet but with a built-in network of trustworthy internet friends.

Welcome to the new way to socially search!

I made an account and then was never able to get anything to load... This app is unfortunately unusable. I hope it gets fixed soon because I love the concept. UPDATE 4/9: Thanks to Diem reaching out to let me know they've patched the app! I've been trying it out for a few days and everything has been working great! I'm really enjoying it so far. :)

Hi Marina! Apologies about this. This was due to a big influx of new users. The issue is about to be fixed in the coming few days and we can't wait to welcome you back in! <3

So excited to get into this app, but I think it's gaining *too* much traction cos it keeps crashing??? I've made an account but haven't seen the home screen yet - hopefully the devs can jump on top of this problem quickly, I'm excited to try it! EDIT: it's been a few days and I still can't get in. Not only that, but it's put me back at the sign-in page and says my email is both "not recognized" AND "already exists" and doesn't provide a solution or contact. Big problems. My hopes are dashed.

Hi Kendra! We're so excited to welcome you and you are indeed correct, we were gaining too much traction! We have been working for the last 2 months to upgrade our infrastructure and in great news, it should be working again smoothly in the coming few days!

I haven't experienced too much lag on the app, but even with the lag so far the community has been lovely! It's amazing having women/NBs/Femmes supporting each other. So far good vibes <3
