I think this is depressing - cannot imagine the feelings of the residents who remember the "before". Dont know what else to say other than I hope the powers that be in local & county government grow enough (in their minds & other places) to stop or slow down this kind of wipe-out of any way, shape or form of nature & wildlife. Depressing is a mild description!
