Qiu Anxiong, the Chinese artist, is known as a pioneer for combining the video animation with Chinese ink painting. Besides investigating the interaction between ancient and modern Chinese culture, his famous work The New Classic of Mountains and Seas, like it have a dreamlike quality: the clearly delineated images framed by unbelievable narratives faithfully depict the absurdity of the world around us. His wonderful works are collected by the Met and Moma.
