Your (nearly) bank needs you, please!

Three honest people who want to make the world a better place by improving homes and businesses, because you care.  

Key skills/interests: people, property and lending. 

Some might have used different words for the title like "3 Independent Non-Executive Directors wanted to join the Board of GBB." Roles we want to cover between the 3 people are Senior Independent, Chair of Nominations, Audit & Risk, and People & Culture Committees. Don't let that put you off though we will agree which ones are appropriate and support you in any training you need! 

With your help we're going to make the North East, UK and then the world a better place to live and work. The plan to do that is by being the first property technology platform built on the foundations of a profitable bank. We want to be profitable quickly and considerately, so our business is sustainable. Our 3-phase approach goes from good to great to global. Phase 1 is about building a bank starting in Middlesbrough, offering savings accounts and property development loans. Board members should commit to take the right, not easy, long-term decisions. You will support our Executive and the broader team delivering our collective dreams, giving and receiving feedback with kindness.  

GBB is a team of 30 people who care about our customers, being open, working together, trust and helping each other to be the best we can. We're on the cusp of getting our banking licence which is incredibly exciting. The GBB Board is a team which needs and wants new skills, feelings, and life experiences. We'd like you to be comfortable being yourself and join us on this journey of discovery. 

You might have noticed that no mention has been made of qualifications, working in a bank or ‘x’ years’ experience. That is deliberate because we're interested in who you are as well as what you've done. We pay a market-rate fee for around 3 days' work per month.
