Ahead of civic body polls in the national capital, BJP's Delhi unit chief Adesh Gupta has said that bulldozers will continue to do what they are meant for.

"What is the purpose of a bulldozer? It is there to demolish illegal constructions. We have ensured that the drive against illegal construction will continue in the entire national capital. The court's orders will be strictly followed at Jahangirpuri but in the rest of Delhi, we will continue demolition of illegal buildings," said Adesh Gupta, president, Delhi BJP.

The party president has written a letter to all three municipal corporations requesting demolition of illegal encroachments, specifically targeting the illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants.

"Illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants are a big threat to Delhi. The illegal construction by them shall be removed for the safety of Delhi," Gupta said.

The Delhi BJP chief also said that 40 villages have been identified that were renamed during Mughal rule and now their names should be changed.

"The demand for renaming started with Muhammadpur village of Delhi where the residents, over 90 per cent of whom are Jats, have demanded immediate change to the name that was imposed by the invaders. Forty such villages have also joined and now the AAP government has to accept the demand. They are not doing anything on the demands of the villages," said Gupta.
