Heat’s Riley Fined $50,000
Miami Coach Pat Riley was fined $50,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for saying game officials are being unfair to the Heat because of a “dislike of me over the years.”
Riley made the comments after a 97-92 loss to New York on Friday, in which the Knicks shot 37 free throws to the Heat’s 16.

Sacramento King point guard Mike Bibby said he expected to play tonight against the visiting San Antonio Spurs, but Coach Rick Adelman said it could be a game-time decision.

Denver, Houston and Philadelphia agreed to a trade that sends swingman James Posey, 25, from the Nuggets to the Rockets, forward Kenny Thomas, 25, from the Rockets to the 76ers and forwards Mark Bryant, 37, and Art Long, 29, from the 76ers to the Nuggets.
Denver also gets a future first-round draft choice from Philadelphia and a second-round pick from the Rockets.

A judge denied former NBA player Jayson Williams’ motion in Flemington, N.J., to dismiss charges he faces in the shooting death of a limousine driver.
Superior Court Judge Edward Coleman conceded Wednesday that some errors were made in presenting the case to the grand jury but that they were not sufficient to warrant dismissal of the charges. Defense lawyers said they would appeal Coleman’s ruling.
