about
"The Game is Hypnosis" emerged from a period marked by mind-expanding wellness activities, as well as immersion in off-kilter sound manipulation. White was inspired by sonic landscapes crafted for alternately distracted or deep listening.
The album is built on electronic processes informed by natural patterns and phenomena. Raw “found” material was developed from old audio stems, which was then spliced, diced, looped, stretched, squashed, and pitch-shifted across numerous tracks to create textured soundscapes.
Conceptually, the work tries to evoke sensations similar to those of a haiku - a brief yet profound moment of clarity, a spark of imagination, or an emotional shift. Through a balance of form and deceptive simplicity, the music distills complex, abstract concepts into concise but powerful snapshots of sound in space.
