KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia will accelerate its introduction of 5G telecommunications, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Friday, breaking with the government's previous stance of postponing the launch and focusing on fully utilizing 4G technology.
Muhyiddin unveiled a digital economy blueprint, including 15 billion ringgit ($3.7 billion) in funding for the rollout of fifth-generation networks over the next 10 years.
