Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s apology to sexual assault victims was “reprehensible,” according to The Australian’s Chris Merritt.
“This is the second time Scott Morrison has used parliamentary privilege to make statements about the guilt of people facing criminal proceedings,” Mr Merritt said.
“Consider the Prime Minister’s statement yesterday – it was obvious that there are criminal proceedings pending, and it’s even worse, they’re pending in the ACT where it’s not possible to get a judge alone trial.
“I think he’s severely challenged the ability of these proceedings to result in a fair outcome.”
